Residence In Teacher Education

Residency In Teacher Education (RITE) is an approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) recognized by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). Our mission is to prepare competent and caring educators who understand students, serve their community, and develop professionally to become ethical decision-makers and leaders.

Forming Teachers

The RITE Program features a dynamic, immersive curriculum rooted in the Wisconsin Teacher Standards and educational best practices. The curriculum is thoughtfully crafted and delivered by subject matter experts who utilize research-backed methodologies to demonstrate effective teaching techniques. A hybrid approach blends in-class sessions with online coursework to provide a well-rounded learning experience.

Statutory License Stipulations

Educating teachers is necessary for professional development, expanded awareness, and future career success. Statutory License Stipulations are required for teachers who have not already completed a state-approved educator preparation program. These programs provide teachers with the tools they need to teach confidently in the classroom. 

Supportive Learning for Educators

To help prospective teachers meet their stipulation needs, we offer Independent Study Modules. Each module takes approximately 10 hours to complete, providing participants with the latest information on conflict resolution, special education, and inclusion. Participants have two complete months from the date the Stipulation Module is sent to complete and submit all stipulation work. All modules are completed online and include any necessary materials and resources.

Substitute Teacher Training

Choosing a new career path can be challenging, but there are experts who can help you make a smooth transition. With these tools and strategies, you can become a more confident and effective substitute teacher.

Step Up to Teach

Prospective substitute teachers will experience real classroom situations to develop familiarity and confidence in their class management skills. Training instructors will model various teaching strategies that substitute teachers can use to implement deeper engagement with students. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of effective teaching principles to prepare for future substitute teaching assignments.

Supervision of Teacher Candidate Training

Teachers looking to supervise teaching candidates as they pursue their careers as educators can utilize this training program to develop the next generation of teachers. 

Cooperative Teaching

Take part in educating educators with this extensive training module. You will learn about the role of cooperating teachers, the act of supervision, and the requirements of evaluation. At the conclusion of the four modules, you will be asked to complete a Google Form Assessment. Once all modules are completed and your work has been reviewed, we will send you evidence documenting your eligibility to be a cooperating teacher in Wisconsin.
