Year 1 - Reading Focus.

  • Know which literacy assessments to use to diagnose students' specific needs in Basic Reading, Reading Fluency, and Reading Comprehension.
  • Understand how to write IEP goals that are tightly connected to the current reading research.
  • Develop a repertoire of instructional routines and tools to target students' IEP goals through specially designed and universal instruction.
  • Understand how to monitor progress of specific IEP goals within Basic Reading, Reading Fluency, and Reading Comprehension.

Year 2 - Writing Focus.

  • Understand how to write IEP goals that are tightly connected to the current writing research.
