Outcomes/Deliverables

Improve Strength-Based Awareness

All staff will have an awareness of and be able to use the foundational tool of the "Sources of Strength Wheel" to engage in strength-based solution-seeking conversations when students are experiencing a challenge

Develop Peer Leaders

Peer leaders will be identified and trained and prepared to lead the work of the Sources of Strength peer group

Strengthen Adult Advisors

Adult Advisors will be empowered to support the peer leaders in their work with the student body as a whole

Positive Cultural Change

Peer leaders are empowered to lead the way in determining what they can do to change the dialogue about mental health and suicide to create a cultural change of behavior, where everyone is accepted and supported

Breaking Stigmas

Peer groups become agents of change for creating awareness and breaking the stigma around depression and other causes of suicide, demonstrating that no one is alone and encouraging others to seek help

Positive Voices

Peer leaders are empowered to use their voices to positively influence their own friends, social groups, and dynamics within
