4 Learning Days at CESA 6

  • Two personalized on-site coaching days

Day 1 - Introduction

  • Examine "Big Picture" of Literacy Learning
  • Develop a common understanding about play workshop
  • Types of play

Day 2 - Leveraging Dialogic Conversations

  • Active view of reading (executive functioning)/Reading Rope
  • The classroom environment and its impact of play on the 
  • Stages of play

Day 3 - Intentionality of Play

  • Create toolkit for Dialogic Conversation
  • Emphasize "share" portion
  • Discuss types of share: writing, oral storytelling, responsive read alouds

Day 4 - Putting It All Together

  • Emphasize the "teach" portion
  • Determine a scope and sequence of lessons
  • Revisit stages of play
